Important intervention of NIBANI Houssine at the Ministerial Session on Forests, Global Climate Action: “Advancing Global Goals on Forests and Climate Change”

HOUSSINE  Has firstable saluted the effort done for the Conservation of the Equatorial Forest , however , he highlighted that Morocco has the second Hotspot in the Mediterranean in term of endemic biodiversity , and the Mediterranean is also the second hotspot in the Earth , after the Equatorial forest . In other hand the Mediterranean forest are on the first line of the climate change impact , we have to work in this region for a better resilience against the climate change impact . so as a CCNET member , he proposed to do similar projects , with the open standards for Conservation , methodology ta`hat can provide for the end users to do a better co-management in the south Mediterranean  protected Areas  .

Mister Charles Mc Neil  was very interested for the Moroccan foresty initiative , we may work together to make real our initiative in  “Strengthened Action for forests in the Mediterranean Region and the Sahel in the Context of Climate Change” , we can  help as you said more than 1 billion people adapt to climate change, with important mitigation and livelihoods co-benefits.  AGIR discussed with our friends Forest and Park Managers in the Middle East, they are ready to work on a strategic plan with the open Standards for conservation approach , to face the new challenges of the climate change in the region , a project can be proposed
