AGIR Association de Gestion Intégrée des Ressources is participating to the  Final Workshop of the project, ‘Transatlantic MPA Network: Towards a Transatlantic Partnership of Marine Protected Areas’, Brussels, 30-31 January 2018

Tranatlantique nibaniThe Foreign Policy Instrument Service (FPI) of the European Commission is organizing the  final workshop organized in the context of the EU funded project « Cooperation with Northern and Southern Transatlantic Dimension ».

This initiative aims to promote broader transatlantic cooperation through an environmental focus, ranging from environmental protection to sustainable blue growth and scientific cooperation. The action promotes dialogue around the four rims of the Atlantic and provides recommendations to policy-makers on protection of marine biodiversity through the establishment of partnerships between marine protected areas (MPA) on both sides of the Atlantic.

 In this closing workshop has participated in sharing  the results of the activities held during this 2-years project, Nibani Houssine has proposed the new Protected marines Areas in Morocco that has to be included inside the mapping work that have not yet done ; including twinning projects between MPAs and MPA networks and exchanges of good practices and experiences between conservation units and managers. This approach offered the opportunity to bring together around the same table stakeholders from North and South America, Africa and Europe.
